Bathroom Renovation Markham
If your Markham bathroom still has its original builder finishes, you are not alone. Many homes across Unionville, Thornhill, Milliken, Cornell and Angus Glen were built 20 to 30 years ago, and their bathrooms are now the most dated rooms in the house. A well-planned renovation fixes more than looks: it improves storage, lighting, water efficiency and everyday comfort.
SM Builders is a Scarborough-based renovation contractor serving Markham and the entire GTA. We handle full bathroom remodels from design to final clean-up, including plumbing, electrical, tiling, custom vanities and fixtures. Every project starts with a free, no-pressure estimate at your home.

Renovating in Markham: What Makes Local Homes Different
Markham’s housing stock shapes how we renovate. Older homes in Unionville and Thornhill often hide galvanized plumbing or dated wiring behind the walls, so we budget for those updates up front rather than surprising you mid-project. In newer subdivisions like Cornell and Greensborough, the work is usually about upgrading builder-grade finishes: better tile, frameless glass, modern vanities and layered lighting.
Ensuite upgrades are the most requested project in Markham. Homeowners typically want a larger walk-in shower, a double vanity and more storage, without moving walls. Where a layout change is worth it — for example, borrowing space from an oversized linen closet — we show you the options and the cost difference before any work begins.
Our Renovation Process
1. Free consultation and measurement at your home. 2. A clear written quote with materials and finishes itemized. 3. Design confirmation: tile, fixtures, vanity and colours chosen before demolition. 4. Demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, waterproofing, tiling and installation. 5. Final walkthrough and clean-up. Most standard bathrooms take 2 to 3 weeks; larger ensuites take 3 to 4 weeks.
How Much Does a Bathroom Renovation Cost in Markham?
